Goodreads Synopsis:

Ethan Sutcliff seems like a normal seventeen-year-old—at least that’s what he’s trying to portray. In a secret society run by the Supernaturals, Ethan is what witches call a Bender. Benders are Witches’ Guardians, who are able to control a witches’ ability, bend it, or move it away from harming humans. In Ethan’s case, he is able to bend the Earth element. But at the age of fifteen, he lost all connection to it, and the reasons behind it could only mean one of two things: His Wielder is either dead, or hiding out somewhere.

Alex Burgendorf has been living in her aunt’s locket for the past sixteen years with her mother—a Fire Wielder, and her father—a Water Wielder. For sixteen years, her parents vowed to protect her, and they have, as she is the last Earth wielding witch. However, time is running out. Alex must find her Bender, or the fate of the Supernaturals might be at stake.

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I saw this cover and new instantly that I needed to read this book. When I saw that there was a blog tour for this book, I jumped at the chance and I signed up for it. I am so grateful that I get to be a part of it!

Thank you to Rock Star Book Tours for providing me with a copy for this book! I cannot wait to jump into this book. Just a small little disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

The writing in this book was good but it was a little difficult to get into. Sometimes there wasn't a lot of detail for me to form a vivid image but at the end of the day, I was really drawn in by the dialogue. I don't know what it was but I really enjoyed it!

Plot Thoughts:

The plot started off slow but in a second things get crazy. I like how the rules of the world where explained in the beginning but I do think that I would have preferred if it was spread out through the chapter so that it wasn't as heavy. I really enjoyed this world, it pulled me straight in. I loved how everything played out in such an interesting way! Definitely a book that I will remember.

Character Thoughts:

I liked the characters but I was't as attached to them as I had hoped. They were likeable and everything that they needed to be but I just couldn't find something to attach myself with.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I was really surprised by this book. It took me a second or two to get into the writing style but it was actually really good. I did find that the detail wasn't quite enough to create that vivid image that I was looking for. The plot started out slow but within a second things become so crazy. I absolutely loved it. I wasn't too big on the characters but at the end of they day they were likeable. Thank you so much to Rock Star Tours for providing me with a copy for this book.
